deflection-Tensile1

To assure high quality products, Ebco performs Tensile Testing, Fatigue testing and Load Deflection Testing. In both design and production, we conduct testing to ensure that our products meet the required specifications.

Tensile Testing

Tensile testing machines are used to determine the rubber to metal bond strength or the strength of the rubber products. Testing is performed per ASTM standards to meet RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association) established criteria. Alternately, we can also tests per the customers’ specifications. We perform this testing on every production batch as part of our inspection procedure.

Tensile testing machines are also used to test the joint strength of molded corners in weather strips. Testing of parts to determine the strength of a bond helps to ensure that the parts we supply will not break during installation, transport, and in operation for the warranty period required

Fatigue Testing

Ebco performs fatigue testing to verify product durability requirements. Results from this testing can also be used for comparative analysis and for product improvement. Commonly used parameters for this testing include amplitude, frequency, load, and number of cycles. This has been a very useful tool to help our customers ensure that our product will survive the number of cycles required for their warranty periods. We have numerous demonstrations where our fatigue results replicate field wear patterns.

Load Deflection Testing

Ebco has deflection machines to conduct load-deflection testing to determine the stiffness in various directions. Stiffness and load deflection characteristics are critical to the performance of the mounts. We use this testing to verify that each production batch meets the required load-deflection specification.

*While rubber is an excellent material for shock and vibration isolation, it can vary from batch to batch. This variation can result in noticeable differences in a critical application and should be measured for each batch to ensure consistent performance.
